Cetraxate, also known as DV-1006, is a mucosal protective agent and an anti-ulcer drug candidate. It is a tautomer of a cetraxate zwitterion. Cetraxate raises levels of calcitonin gene-related peptide and substance P in human plasma. Cetraxate, combined with omeprazole, amoxycillin, and clarithromycin increases the eradication rate of helicobacter pylori in smokers. Cetraxate improves ethanol-induced gastric mucosal congestion in anesthetized dogs.
