MedKoo Cat#: 565718 | Name: EC-18

Description:

WARNING: This product is for research use only, not for human or veterinary use.

EC-18 is a synthetic monoacetyldiacylglyceride. EC18 inhibits hematogenous metastasis of KIGB-5 biliary cancer cell in hamster model. EC-18 attenuates the asthmatic response in an aluminum hydroxide/ovalbumin-induced model of asthma. EC-18 attenuated airway inflammation with a reduction in myeloperoxidase expression in lung tissue. Additionally, EC-18 inhibited the phosphorylation of NF-κB and IκB induced by cigarette smoke and LPS exposure. EC-18 effectively suppresses neutrophilic inflammation induced by cigarette smoke and LPS exposure. EC-18 has therapeutic potential for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
