Sandalore (CAS 65113-99-7) is a synthetic sandalwood-like odorant developed by Givaudan, primarily used in perfumery to impart a rich, warm, and tenacious sandalwood character to fragrances. Beyond its olfactory applications, Sandalore has been identified as a selective agonist of the olfactory receptor OR2AT4, a G-protein-coupled receptor expressed in human keratinocytes. Activation of OR2AT4 by Sandalore induces intracellular calcium and cAMP signaling, leading to enhanced keratinocyte proliferation, migration, and wound healing in vitro.
