Ranosidenib, also known as HMPL-306, is an isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) inhibitor. IDH inhibitors are compounds that target mutations in the IDH enzyme, which are implicated in various cancers, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML). By inhibiting mutant IDH enzymes, these inhibitors can reduce the production of the oncometabolite 2-hydroxyglutarate (2-HG), thereby promoting the differentiation of malignant cells and inhibiting tumor growth.
