Due to the functional groups, this material can be used in a multitude of applications, such as the synthesis of protein-polymer conjugates and the synthesis of protein-polymer conjugates and the synthesis of functionalized quantum dots. In addition to use a crosslinking agent, this material can also be used to install functional groups post-polymerization.
