Clindamycin HCl hydrate is a ribosomal translocation and protein synthesis inhibitor that displays efficacy against MRSA. It is also occasionally used to treat Plasmodium. It has the same antibacterial spectrum as lincomycin, but the antibacterial activity is four to eight times stronger than that of lincomycin.
