Dantrolene sodium salt is an inhibitor of calcium release from the sarcoplasmic reticulum. Dantrolene reduces spontaneous calcium wave frequency and amplitude in the presence of calmodulin in cardiomyocytes. Formulations containing Dantrolene have been used in the treatment of malignant hyperthermia.
