Biological target:
MK6-83 is a new candidate agonist of TRPML1 with an improved efficacy and potency.
In vitro activity:
Then, to assess the role of TRPML-1, cell viability assays have been conducted in T98 and U251 cell lines treated with the specific TRPML-1 agonist, MK6-83. This study found that MK6-83 reduced cell viability and induced caspase-3-dependent apoptosis. Reference: Cancers (Basel). 2019 Apr 12;11(4):525. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31013784/
