CaspPro is a selective caspase 8 activator. It acts by potentiating TRAIL-induced cell death. CaspPro promotes earlier and higher caspase 8 activation in single cells after TRAIL treatment, compared to TRAIL treatment alone. CaspPro can sensitize three different cancer cell lines (leukemic Jurkat and K562 cell lines, and prostate PC3 cell lines) to TRAIL-induced cell death.
