Gonadorelin is a decapeptide that stimulates the synthesis and secretion of both pituitary gonadotropins, LUTEINIZING HORMONE and FOLLICLE STIMULATING HORMONE. GnRH is produced by neurons in the septum PREOPTIC AREA of the HYPOTHALAMUS and released into the pituitary portal blood, leading to stim. Gonadorelin has been shown to have gonadotropin-releasing effects upon the anterior pituitary.

Biological target:

In vitro activity:
In contrast to already existing short peptide fibrils, GnRH [6-D-Phe] (gonadorelin) nanostructures and fibrils form in a Tris-buffered pH environment in a controlled manner through a temperature reduction and a pH shift. In vivo activity:
Female ApcMin/+ mice fed control diet developed an average of 60 ± 6.5 (mean± SEM) small intestinal polyps (Fig. 1D). Raloxifene and gonadorelin administration significantly reduced total intestinal polyp multiplicity and size (means± SEM; 18 ± 4.4 and 19 ± 2.86, Fig. 1D and E).
