BMY-25551 is a mitomycin (MMC) derivative. BMY-25551 has been shown to be 8 to 20 times more potent than mitomycin C (MMC) in cytotoxicity to murine and human tumor cell lines. BMY-25551 appears to be more effective in tumor inhibition than MMC against P388 leukemia and B16 melanoma in mice. BMY-25551 is comparable to MMC in hematologic depression in mice.
