SC-17599 produced dose-dependent antinociception in both the acetic acid-induced writhing and warm water tail-withdrawal assays. SC17599 induces the Straub tail response in a dose-dependent and naltrexone-sensitive manner, similar to morphine. Unlike morphine, SC17599 at high doses does not affect locomotor activity. Overall, SC17599 exhibits selective mu-opioid agonism, producing behavioral effects akin to morphine, albeit with some differences.
