ND-011992 is a reversible, selective quinazoline-type inhibitor targeting quinone reductases and quinol oxidases. In vitro studies have demonstrated that ND-011992 effectively inhibits these enzymes with IC₅₀ values in the low micromolar range. Specifically, it inhibits respiratory complex I with an IC₅₀ of 0.12 µM, and both cytochrome bd oxidases with IC₅₀ values of 0.63 µM and 1.3 µM, respectively. Additionally, ND-011992 has been shown to enhance the bactericidal activity of other antibiotics, such as Q203, against antibiotic-tolerant M. tuberculosis strains. This combination therapy has demonstrated improved efficacy in reducing bacterial load in animal models
