N-(4,6-divinyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-PEG4-NHS ester is a novel cysteine binder coupled to a terminal NHS ester bound by a PEG linker. The divinyltriazine works by stapling of two cysteine residues to form macrocyclic peptides from their unprotected linear counterparts. The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media. The NHS ester can label the primary amines (-NH2) of proteins, amine-modified oligonucleotides, and other amine-containing molecules.
