Description:

WARNING: This product is for research use only, not for human or veterinary use.

YUN35454, also known as LMPTP INHIBITOR 1 is a selective inhibitor of low molecular weight protein tyrosine phosphatase (LMPTP), with an IC50 of 0.8 μM LMPTP-A. LMPTP is a key promoter of insulin resistance and that LMPTP inhibitors would be beneficial for treating type 2 diabetes. YUN35454 was first reported in Nature Chemical Biology (2017), 13(6), 624-632. This product has no formal name at the moment. For the convenience of communication, a temporal code name was therefore proposed according to MedKoo Chemical Nomenclature (see web page: https://www.medkoo.com/page/naming).

Obesity-associated insulin resistance plays a central role in type 2 diabetes. As such, tyrosine phosphatases that dephosphorylate the insulin receptor (IR) are potential therapeutic targets. The low-molecular-weight protein tyrosine phosphatase (LMPTP) is a proposed IR phosphatase, yet its role in insulin signaling in vivo has not been defined.
