Patent Blue VF dye is a violet colored powder that has been used in combination with 99mTc phytate to detect sentinel lymph node (SLN) in early stage cervical cancer patients. It has been used to detect heat shock protein (HSP) gp96 induced draining lymph nodes (LNs) in mice. Patent Blue VF has also been used to detect the effect of Asn-Gly-Arg (NGR)-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) on tumor perfusion in murine model. It has even been used in cosmetic coloring.
