Isodemecolcine is an antimitotic agent that disrupts microtubules by binding to tubulin and preventing its polymerization. Isodemecolcine stimulates the intrinsic GTPase activity of tubulin and induces apoptosis in several normal and tumor cell lines. Isodemecolcine also activates the JNK/SAPK signaling pathway.
