MedKoo Cat#: 564873 | Name: UTKO1

Description:

WARNING: This product is for research use only, not for human or veterinary use.

UTKO1 is a synthetic analog of a natural tumor cell migration inhibitor, moverastin, isolated from microbial extracts of Aspergillus sp. 7720. UTKO1 acts as a selective inhibitor of notochord tubulogenesis, a process involved in the development of the notochord, a structure that plays a role in early embryonic development. UTKO1 prevents the interaction between 14-3-3εa and ezrin/radixin/moesin (ERM), which are proteins involved in cell adhesion and migration. UTKO1 inhibits tumor cell migration by a mechanism other than the inhibition of FTase. UTKO1 is a mixture of the stereoisomers. All four synthetic stereoisomers of UTKO1 exhibited comparable tumor cell migration inhibitory activity.
