Biological target:

Lysine clonixinate is a non-morphinic analgesic.

In vitro activity:

Lung preparations were incubated with LC (lysine clonixinate) at 2.3 x 10(-5) M or 3.8 x 10(-5) M. The minimum concentration did not modify NOS activity in control or LPS-treated rats but the maximum dose inhibited increased NO production induced by LPS. In vivo activity:

In the present study, the in vivo effect of three NSAIDs (lysine clonixinate (LC), indomethacine (INDO) and meloxicam (MELO)) on NO production and nitric oxide synthase expression in rat cerebellar slices was analysed.
