UNC-926 is a selective antagonist of the methyl-lysine binding protein L3MBTL1, a member of the malignant brain tumor (MBT) domain-containing protein family. It binds to the MBT domain of L3MBTL1 with a dissociation constant (Kd) of 3.9 μM, inhibiting its interaction with monomethylated histone H4 lysine 20 (H4K20me1).
