Description:

WARNING: This product is for research use only, not for human or veterinary use.

SR31527 is a novel inhibitor of kinesin-like protein KIFC1. SR31527 inhibited KIFC1 by binding directly to an allosteric site of KIFC1 without involving MTs. Moreover, SR31527 prevented bipolar clustering of extra centrosomes in TNBC cells and significantly reduced TNBC cell colony formation and viability, and was less cytotoxic to normal fibroblasts. SR31527 provides a valuable tool for studying the biological function of KIFC1 and serves as a potential lead for the development of novel therapeutic agents for breast cancer treatment.

Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
Biological target:
SR31527 chloride is a potent KIFC1 inhibitor with an IC50 value of 6.6 µM. SR31527 decreased cell viability and colony formation.
In vitro activity:
To be determined
In vivo activity:
SR31527 provides a valuable tool for studying the biological function of KIFC1 and has potential for breast cancer treatment. SR31527 inhibited microtubule (MT)-stimulated KIFC1 ATPase activity with an IC50 value of 6.6 μM and bound directly to KIFC1 with high affinity (Kd=25.4 nM). SR31527 prevented bipolar clustering of extra centrosomes in triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells and significantly reduced TNBC cell colony formation and viability, but was less toxic to normal fibroblasts.
