Alniditan is a 5-HT1B/D receptor agonist that may be used in the treatment of migraines. Alniditan selectively constricts porcine carotid arteriovenous anastomoses via 5-HT1B/1D receptors. alniditan is a potent agonist at h5-HT1D alpha and h5-HT1D beta receptors; its properties probably underlie its cranial vasoconstrictive and antimigraine properties.
