MedKoo Cat#: 145288 | Name: YM-31636

Description:

WARNING: This product is for research use only, not for human or veterinary use.

YM-31636 is a 5-HT3 receptor agonist. YM-31636 induced contraction of isolated guinea pig distal colon. YM-31636 is a potent and selective 5-HT3 receptor agonist, preferentially acting on the contraction of the colon. YM-31636 is shown to increase the intracolonic pressure measured in both conscious and anesthetized rats. YM-31636 may be useful in treating constipation since they facilitate GMC-like contractions and defecation without undesired changes in gut motility pattern.
