CD-2394 is a novel synthetic retinoid. CD-2394 treatment reduces the number of cells in the G2M-phase, indicating decreased proliferation. Normal differentiation is decreased, and CD-2394-treated samples show expression of keratin 13, not seen in other treated skin. This suggests CD-2394 induces an embryonic pathway of differentiation, distinct from normal or regeneration-associated differentiation.
