Inh2-B1 is an inhibitor of STK1, also known as Ser/Thr protein kinase. Inh2-B1 functions by directly binding to the ATP-binding catalytic domain of STK1. STK1 is a vital constituent of cell wall biosynthesis in Staphylococcus aureus and is responsible for MRSA's drug resistance. Inh2-B1 serves as a “antibiotic-resistance-breaker,” due to its ability to prevent biofilm formation.
