Rosin is a cinnamic glycoside that has been found in R. rosea and has antidepressant and neurotropic activities. In vivo, rosin (0.26 mg/kg) decreases immobility time in the forced swim test in rats.1 It also reduces chloral hydrate-induced sleep in mice.
