Resorantel is used in the research of paramphistomiasis in cattle and sheep and has also been used for the research of G. aegypticus.

Antiparasitic activity of halogenated salicylanilides, one being resorantel, has been demonstrated against a large number of internal parasites. These include haematophagous helminths and external parasites including ticks and mites in a variety of animal species.
