Disulfamide is a benzenedisulfonamide and carbonic anhydrase (CA) inhibitor with diuretic activity. Disulfamide inhibits CA, thereby preventing sodium, bicarbonate and thus water reabsorption in the proximal convoluted tubule resulting in diuresis.
