(+)-Sorokinianin is a phytotoxic fungal metabolite originally isolated from B. sorokiniana. It inhibits germination of barley (H. vulgare) seeds when used at a concentration of 300 µM. (+)-Sorokinianin is cytotoxic to protoplasts isolated from barley first leaves (IC50 = 150 µM).
