More Info
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are capable of self-renewal and multilineage differentiation. A periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) stain-based assay was developed to screen for small-molecule inducers of hepatic differentiation of bone marrow MSCs.
Product Data
Biological target:
SJA710-6 selectively differentiates MSCs toward hepatocyte-like cells.
In vitro activity:
SJA710-6 was able to induce the differentiation of rMSCs toward hepatocyte-like cells in vitro. rMSCs treated with SJA710-6 had typical morphological and functional characteristics of hepatic cells, including glycogen storage, urea secretion, uptake of low density lipoprotein (LDL) and expression of hepatocyte-specific genes and proteins. In vivo activity:
SJA6017 may have potential in spinal cord injury treatment. In a rat spinal cord injury model, SJA6017 reduced apoptotic cell death, preserved spinal cord tissue and improved functional outcome. SJA6017 treated rats had significantly reduced tissue injury and had ameliorated recovery of limb function.
