C-DIM5, also known as DIM-C-pPhOCH3, is a synthetic diindolylmethane derivative and an agonist of the orphan nuclear receptor Nur77 (NR4A1). It selectively activates Nur77 over peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) in reporter assays at a concentration of 20 µM. In vitro studies have demonstrated that C-DIM5 inhibits growth and induces apoptosis in various cancer cell lines, including RKO colon cancer cells and L3.6pL pancreatic cancer cells, at concentrations ranging from 10 to 20 µM. Additionally, in vivo experiments have shown that C-DIM5, administered at 25 mg/kg/day, inhibits tumor growth in athymic nude mice bearing RKO cell xenografts.
