Description:

WARNING: This product is for research use only, not for human or veterinary use.

Glyceryl monolinoleate, also known as mono-linolein or glyceryl 9,12-octadecadienoate, is a monoacylglycerol derivative of linoleic acid. It has been studied primarily for its bioactivity in dermatological and antimicrobial contexts. Glyceryl monolinoleate exhibits antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, with minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) reported in the range of 64–128 µg/mL. It also shows moderate antifungal activity. In skin-related studies, it enhances percutaneous drug absorption and improves skin hydration by acting as a penetration enhancer and emollient.

More Info
Additionally, it has shown anti-inflammatory effects by downregulating pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNF-α in in vitro models. Its safety and efficacy profile supports its use in cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations, although detailed pharmacological or systemic effects remain under-characterized in vivo.

In vivo activity:
To the best of this study’s knowledge, this is the first study to identify and confirm glyceryl monolinoleate as a sleep-promoting compound from P. sibiricum. This study suggests that glyceryl monolinoleate isolated from PSE may exhibit potential role as a sleep-promoting phytochemical.
