Description:

WARNING: This product is for research use only, not for human or veterinary use.

Hydrastine is a benzylisoquinoline alkaloid with weak vasoconstrictive and hypotensive bioactivity, historically attributed to its partial agonist activity at α-adrenergic receptors. It also exhibits mild anticholinergic effects and may inhibit uterine smooth muscle contractions by modulating calcium influx. Its pharmacological actions are less potent than related alkaloids and are primarily of interest in phytochemical and mechanistic studies.
