Biological target:
Rhodamine B is a dye.
In vitro activity:
Rhodamine B induced cytogenetic effects in A. cepa root tip cells, suggesting that the A. cepa root is an ideal model system for detecting cellular interactions. Reference: Environ Sci Pollut Res Int. 2014 Mar;21(5):3363-70. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24234815/
In vivo activity:
In rats, rhodamine B was highly accumulated in the liver and, to a lesser extent, the kidney, but was undetectable in the brain. These results provide useful information for improving the pharmacokinetics and biodistribution of rhodamine B.
