MNI-137 is a selective negative allosteric modulator of group II mGlu receptors (IC50 values are 8.3 and 12.6 nM). MNI-137 displays no activity at mGlu1, mGlu4, mGlu5 or mGlu8 receptors in a calcium mobilization assay.
