Biological target:
HT-2157 (SNAP 37889) is a selective, high-affinity, competitive antagonists of galanin-3 receptor (Gal3).
In vitro activity:
TBD
In vivo activity:
Unexpectedly, coinjection of M871 with spexin could not block the inhibitory effect of spexin on food intake (p=0.430, compared with the spexin group), suggesting that GALR2 was not involved in the anorectic effect of spexin. Figure 2(b) demonstrates that SNAP37889 also did not influence cumulative food intake at 6 h (p=0.999, compared with the control). However, it significantly antagonized the inhibition of food intake induced by spexin (p < 0.05, compared with the spexin group), indicating that the anorectic effect of spexin was mediated by GALR3.
