Ferric maltoll, sold under the brand names Accrufer and Feraccru, is for the treatment of adults with low iron stores. Ferric maltol (ST10): a novel oral iron supplement for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia in inflammatory bowel disease. Ferric maltol is effective in correcting iron deficiency anemia in patients with inflammatory bowel disease: results from a phase-3 clinical trial program. Ferric maltol can cause serious side effects including increased risk of inflammatory bowel disease flare and iron overload in the body.
